Features of the Absorbable and Braided PGA Suture:

  • Knot tensile strength and needle notch resistance exceeding the limits set by the USP.
  • In vitro strength retention: 83% at 2 weeks.
  • Tissue reaction: non-antigenic, non-pyrogenic and only causes a mild tissue reaction during the absorption process.
  • Absorption Time: completely absorbed in 60-90 days.
  • Soft texture that facilitates passage through tissue with minimal trauma.
  • Excellent knotting capability thanks to modern braiding technology.
  • Very high initial tensile strength and excellent handling.
  • Does not require additional lubrication.
  • Soft and secure knotting.
  • Sterilization: 100% ethylene oxide.
  • Color: Purple and uncolored.
  • Packaged with Tyvek® paper for added safety.
  • Less than 200 ppm of moisture, ensuring a total shelf life of 5 years.
  • Braided polyglycolic acid coated with polyglactin and calcium stearate.
