Trays for Fluoride
This type of tray is used in prophylaxis to completely coat all teeth with a fluoride gel placed in both trays. This achieves effective cleaning without the material overflowing and without the patient swallowing fluoride. The trays have the anatomical shape of the oral cavity to fit both arches, with sizes available to suit each type of patient. They are made of polyethylene, as they are single-use. It is placed on the surface of the teeth, and time must be allowed for the fluoride to take effect.
