Oral x-ray films

Film and phosphor plates are two widely used technologies in dental radiology for capturing images of teeth and oral structures.
Dental X-ray film consists of a plastic base coated with an emulsion sensitive to X-rays, which reacts chemically when exposed to radiation. This film is for single use and requires a chemical development process to turn the latent image into a visible one.
Phosphor plates are reusable digital devices that capture radiographic images through a radiation-sensitive coating. They work as a modern alternative to traditional film, using phosphor storage technology. After exposure to X-rays, the plates must be scanned by a special reader to convert the stored information into a digital image.
