Dental polishing is a procedure that can be used instead of drilling to help clean teeth and eliminate cavities. Most patients prefer this to perforation as it is not so painful and does not have some of the same uncomfortable sounds that so many people associate with visits to the dentist. This technique is also known as air abrasion. Both the natural teeth and the prosthetics that we incorporate to the patients present a certain roughness that is necessary to eliminate to obtain smooth surfaces, without recess and polished. There are several techniques for this that provide not only an aesthetic benefit but also hygienic and functional. All these advantages have made dental polishing a very recurrent treatment among the reference dental clinics.
The presence of rough surfaces in the oral cavity, which in many cases is a natural consequence, brings with it a series of disadvantages that we can eradicate with the application of dental polishing . This procedure serves to improve the teeth at four different levels: health, plaque, preparation to accommodate dentures and also at the aesthetic level, as we will see below.
