Carrying out the treatment:

• First, try the splint in the patient's mouth.
• Check the fit of the splint and the correct length of its margins.
• Demonstrate to the patient how to fill the tray with the whitening product, how to place it, how to fill and rinse the cavity and how to remove excess whitening gel from the gingiva.
• Give the patient the splints, whitening gel and patient instructions for use.
• The patient receives a treatment programme and a follow-up appointment.
• Inform the patient about possible side effects (hypersensitivity). In case of side effects, the patient is advised to discontinue the treatment and to visit the dentist again.
• Application: 2 hours per day or night.
