VIDU HARD THERMOFORMING SHEET - PLASTIC NEUTRAL CERTIFIED - ZERO PLASTIC FOOTPRINT
Today, thermoforming sheets are in high demand in clinics as they are used to create bite correction splints. For hygienic and sanitary reasons it is difficult to find an alternative material. VIDU works to always offer the most responsible solution and, while maintaining the necessary hygienic qualities in the clinic, always seeks a balance between fair price and care for the planet.
In the case of thermoforming sheets, while VIDU works on researching alternative solutions, they have reached an agreement with The Gravity Wave whereby the same amount of plastic they generate is collected from the Mediterranean Sea, its coasts and ports every month.

How can the waste generated in the clinic with the use of thermoforming sheets be managed?
- How are thermoforming sheets recycled?
- Can the packaging of this product be recycled?
Orthodontic aligners created with these thermoforming sheets must be taken to a municipally owned, controlled facility. Why is that? Because they have been used in the mouth, they are considered contaminated material due to potential biohazard. VIDU is working on the development of alternatives and new recycling channels for waste generated in the clinic. In the meantime, to compensate for the plastic footprint generated, VIDU, together with the Alicante-based start-up The Gravity Wave, collects the same amount of plastic from the Mediterranean Sea, its coasts and ports every month as it generates.
The sheets come in laminated plastic packs, because we need to protect the product from contact with light, oxygen and moisture. The plastic bag in which the sheets come in is made of laminated polypropylene and can be recycled.
Where do the thermoforming sheets come from?
One of the brand's objectives is transparency, which is why the country of origin is always specified on the packaging of all products. It will vary from one product to another, always seeking the manufacturing conditions that ensure: Quality, sustainability and fair price.
In the case of the sheets, they are manufactured in China.
