Biodentine is a bioactive dentine substitute based on tricalcium silicate. Biodentine has similar mechanical properties to healthy dentine and can replace it, both at the coronal and root level. Thanks to its dentine-like components it is biocompatible, helps to preserve pulp vitality together with a tight seal on the surface without the need for pre-treatment and ensures minimal postoperative sensitivity.

Indications for use of Biodentine:

The versatility of Biodentine allows it to be used at both coronary and root level.

At the coronary level it can be used in:

• Temporary enamel restoration.
• Permanent restoration of dentine.
• Large or deep caries lesions, cervical or deep root lesions.
• Enamel coating.
• Pulpotomy.

At root level it can be used in:

• Root perforation and bifurcation.
• Internal/external resorptions.
• Apexification.
• Surgical retrograde filling.
