Denture coating | Page 2

A coating is a material that is used in dentistry as a protective layer of the dental surface. A refractory material (quartz, tridimite or cristobalite), modifiers (magnesium oxide, manganese, among others) and binder are required. They can be agglutinated by three methods:
- By plaster . Used for gold casting (Au).
- By ethyl silicate. Used for non-precious alloy casting for removable partial dentures.
- By phosphate . The most used in the market for any type of casting, precious or non-precious alloys, such as metal-ceramic prosthesis, inlay, onlay, overlay, crowns, bridges or removable partial dentures.
