The Statim Clean Cassette should be kept as a good clinical practice, as it helps the unit to operate. SciCan recommends cleaning the interior surface at least once a week. Use soap to wash dishes or a mild detergent that does not contain chlorine. Wipe the inside of the cassette with a sponge designed for Teflon ™ coated surfaces. After scrubbing, rinse well with water to remove any traces of detergent. Cleaning the inside of your cassette is very important if you frequently lubricate instruments. Coating the entire inner surface with the Stat-Dri drying agent induces the water to form a uniform layer on the inner surface without producing droplets. The water in contact with the hot surfaces of the cassette also evaporates much more effectively. This reduces stains and the instruments dry much better. It is important to apply STAT-DRI every 10 cycles and after each cassette cleaning.
