The blades at the bottom of the implant, give this a great tapping capacity, reserving only the use of tapping for hard bone. surface treatment The surface of the Noricum implants is achieved through a combination of a process of shotblasting with particles followed by chemical treatment (acid etched). The first process gives the surface a structural roughness allowing the formation with the second treatment of an ideal surface with holes 3 μm in diameter and 2-3 μm depth and maximum density to provide a uniform roughness that increases the osseointegration process . Next, images obtained using Scanning Electron Microscopy (Jeol JSM-6335 CF) are presented, where a homogeneous macro-roughness surface and a uniform distribution of voids between 1-2 μm in diameter can be observed.
The chemical composition of the of the Noricum implant surface, studied by x-rays (XPS) photoelectron spectroscopy, corresponds to a surface film of TiO2 of thickness greater than 3nm, developed on a titanium metallic substrate.
