The dental composite is a paste formed by an acrylic resin mixed with ceramic particles that, upon contact with the powerful light, acquires a hardness very similar to the human tooth.

The major advantage of composite is that it adds to the defect of the tooth without having to reduce it, carve it or mutilate it. The composite is a strongly adhesive material with which the piece is reconstructed as if it were a sculpture.

There are many composite shades that perfectly match the fractured tooth. It works so well that it is equally applied to solve other aesthetic smile problems, such as separated teeth, diastemas or tetracyclines.

Composites have a duration of between seven and ten years. However, it must be borne in mind that in all cases it depends on individual habits and factors.

Composite resins or composites are the most commonly used dental materials today, both for anterior aesthetic reconstructions and for fillings or seals of posterior teeth.

The composites consist of an organic matrix and filler particles (providing hardness and strength), and are classified into composites of microparticles, microparticles and hybrid composites.

Its properties of the composite are: behavior against thermal changes and similar elasticity to the tooth, little contraction to the polymerization, radiopacity and high resistance to the wear and the fatigue.
