Legionella Immunising Filter
Legionella is a disease caused by the bacterium legionella pneumophilia that survives at low temperatures and is spread through water or air. It grows most easily on taps, heads and instruments that combine both elements such as rotary instruments. This makes turbines and contra-angle handpieces a means of risk contagion.
This filter is specially designed to prevent and protect against nosocomial infections caused by pathogens in the water, in order to ensure the safety of dental treatment.
The legionella filter can be fitted to any dental equipment by the practitioner. It is recommended to do so at the water inlet of the unit.
Characteristics of the Legionella Filter:
- It is universal.
- Compatible with all dental units.
- Duration approximately 2 years.
- Filtration capacity: 13.000 litres.
- Filters any bacteria larger than 0.075 µm.
- Disposable.
Filter Technical Characteristics :
- It complies with ISO 9001:2008, ISO 1348:2003 and ISO 11137-1:2006.
- It has a double layer Polysulphone membrane with hollow fibres.
- Filter housing made of medical grade ABS material.
- Membrane: 0.075 µm and water flow rate 10L/min at 1.5 - 3 bar.
- 62.000 cm² of hollow fibre in the filter area.
Maximum conditions of use:
- From 1.5 to 25 bar at 60ºC.
- 70º C for 30 min.
- 300 ppm chlorine for 12h.
