K3 NiTi Rotary Endodontic Files

Kerr Sybronendo K3 rotary files are a state-of-the-art asymmetric endodontic file system designed with a triple cutting edge to cut quickly, efficiently and safely, with unparalleled removal of dentine and debris.

• Positive tilt angle provides active cutting action.
• Large radial zone provides support for the blade while adding peripheral resistance to withstand torsional stresses.
• The third radial plane stabilises and keeps the instrument centred in the channel and minimises snagging.
• The released radial plane reduces friction on the channel wall and prevents over-instrumentation.

Characteristics:

• Variable groove spacing: Unlike most files, the K3 file system has a variable groove spacing which allows debris to be effectively channelled outward coronally without build-up or clogging seen in other systems with constant spacing. This is important not only during instrumentation and final cleaning, but also for retreatment.
• Less friction and more support: Thanks to it’s design with a released radial plane, K3 files minimise frictional resistance and provide support and integrity.
• Safety tip: The non-cutting safety tip of the K3 instrument follows the canal system of the tooth extremely well and helps the clinician to avoid flanging, drilling, zipping and other unpleasant shocks.
• Simplified colour coding: a simplecolour coding system with only two tapers: 04 y 06. The instruments have two coloured bands on the stem.
  • The upper band indicates the taper (.04 green, and .06 orange),
  • The lower band (closest to the end) conforms to the standard ISO size, with 10 different sizes (all measured at the tip).
• Variable core diameter: Variable penetration depth.
  • The ratio of core diameter to outer diameter is greatest at the tip, where the force is most important. This ratio then decreases uniformly as you move up the shaft, resulting in greater depth and greater flexibility while maintaining strength.
  • An additional benefit to this is that waste is also disposed of more efficiently.
