WaveOne® from Dentsply Maillefer, provides new standards in endodontic treatment, bringing greater speed and simplicity to root canal shaping, by using a single file for reciprocating rotary movement made of NiTi alloy, complete instrumentation of the canal is achieved in most cases.

Each file is individually packaged and pre-sterilised to ensure that the instrument is always in perfect sharpening condition and to avoid breakage or cross-contamination.

Features of Wave One files:

• WaveOne® works with reciprocating rotational motion, the alternating rotation means that it continuously changes the direction of rotation during canal shaping.
• A wide angle of rotation in the cutting direction provides high efficiency, while a smaller angle in the opposite direction allows the WaveOne® file to progress safely through the canal, respecting the anatomy of the canal.
• The optimised angles also reduce the risk of screwing and file breakage.
• The alternating twist technique allows most canals to be shaped using only one WaveOne® nickel titanium file.
• No time is wasted changing NiTi instruments during canal shaping and total shaping time is reduced by up to 40% compared to the traditional continuous rotation technique, while providing high quality treatments
• Dentsply Mailleferrecommends the use of a single file for each patient as a new standard of treatment, introducing the WaveOne® NiTi reciprocating files exclusively in pre-sterilised packages and with a handle that cannot be autoclaved.
