Colgate Duraphat Desensitising Fluoride Varnish

Durapahat is a varnish with a high fluoride content, with proven efficacy in the prevention of caries, for fluoridation and treatment of sensitivities.

Characteristics of Duraphat Varnish:

• Highly water tolerant.
• Clinically proven caries prevention in both children and adults.
• Prevents decalcification around orthodontic appliances.
• Proven efficacy in the treatment of dentine hypersensitivity.
• It has an effectiveness equivalent to that of a 2% solution of sodium fluoride in inhibiting erosion in vitro.
• 5% sodium fluoride varnish, consisting of 22,600 ppm fluoride.
• Resin-basedvarnish.
• Coloured for easy viewing.
• It is applied in the grooves of the molars and between the teeth.
• After application of the product, do not drink after 2 hours and do not eat after 4 hours.
• The product is slightly yellow on contact with the teeth, but becomes lighter on contact with saliva.
• The use of buckets is not necessary.
• Quick and easyapplication.
• It can be applied by brush, probe or swab.
• Colgate Duraphat coats the teeth with a suspension film that hardens in the presence of saliva becoming persistent, and over the next few hours causes fluoride to build up to a certain depth in the tooth enamel.
• The product formulation contains alcohol.
• Recommended every 6 months and for people at risk of caries recommended every 3 months.
• To be applied by the dentist.
• Avoid use in pregnantwomen and during lactation.
