Authorities now recommend that dental instruments primarily be processed first in a mechanical washer or cleaning and disinfecting prior to sterilization . Across Europe, standards and guidelines (ISO 15883 / RKI / BDA Sheet of Recommendations A12) reflect this advice.

Before placing the instruments in the HYDRIM , remove the composite, cement and amalgam next to the chair, then load the instruments into trays or baskets, place in the HYDRIM, and press start.
Hydrim cycles wash, rinse, disinfect and dry their instruments, and prepares them for sterilization in STATIM autoclaves or others. (There are two disinfection cycles that hold the instruments at 80 ° C for 10 minutes or at 90 ° C for 5 minutes, following the washing phases).

HIP ™ chemistry (HYDRIM cleaning solution with instrument protection) has been carefully formulated to provide excellent compatibility with a wide range of materials and coatings.
