Laboratory Burs are designed for extraoral use for cutting, modelling and polishing prosthetics, plaster models and other treatments with acrylic materials.

Larger than the usual size for intraoral use and mostly for use with Handpiece (ISO 104), some of the most commonly used shapes are the H1 steel ball cutter or the milleaf acorn cutter with great cutting power for all types of materials.
