CHARACTERISTICS OF THE COLLAGEN MEMBRANE BONE TWO
Bone Two is a connective layer derived from the equine pericardium. They are endowed with the veterinary certificate attesting the suitability.
The pericardial sheet, freshly extracted, is transferred to the laboratory where the most suitable parts for the construction of the bioprosthesis are selected. The selected sheets are treated with proteolytic enzymes and successively passed through solutions that stop the enzymatic action. The selected films are examined with the operative microscope sector by sector to identify the areas most adapted to the use, based on the consistency and strength of the reticular collagen weave, then subtilized to uniform thickness and punched in different sizes, each one suitable for a Particular use.
The processed sheets are immersed in a mixture of propylene oxide and ethyl alcohol for preservation and sterilization. After a period of 20 days the prepared and preserved bioprostheses are biologically prepared for use.
The methodologies used in the preparation are in accordance with the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) regulations, which provide for the monitoring of each stage of production, lots of provenance of the membrane, the control cards of the used machines, the flow diagrams Of production and of the quality controls, carried out with apparatuses constructed expressly for the verification of the intermediate and final product. Tests of cytotoxicity conducted on the finished product in their commercial manufacture demonstrate that Bone Two does not cause inflammation of the tissues.

Bone Two is deproteinized equine pericardium. It consists of a network of connective fibers prevalently collagen of the structure and resistance not matchable by synthetic collagen obtained by artificial crosslinking methods; For this with a thickness of one tenth of mm. MAIN INDICATIONS OF MEMBRANE BONE TWO
- Remodeling of atrophic crests: Maxillary sinus enhancement interventions in association with filler materials to stimulate tissue regeneration, with the objective of determining the repair of the bone gap and improving the integration of the biomaterials. Another use is in the enhancement of mandibular ridges, always in association with filling materials, guiding the growth of soft and hard tissues.
- Periodontics: Treatment of the periodontal pockets and repair of the bifurcations. The insertion of Bone Two to isolate the defect of a Class II bifurcation, suturing the membrane around the interested element, ensures the good result of the intervention with optimal bone repair.
- Extractive surgery: Successively to dental extractions, either in cases of roots that penetrate the maxillary sinus to avoid the formation of fistulas, or in areas that must be rehabilitated protein to prevent loss of substance otherwise unavoidable.
- Implantology: When an implant should be placed in an insufficient bone sector or when there is a bone defect adjacent to the same implant.
It is also used in post-extractive implantology for rapid stabilization of the implant postoperatively, with optimal clinical results.
