NEW BONE COLLAGEN MEMBRANE
New Bone derives from equine cartilage, deprived of periocondrio; The structure that remains is chemically treated and sterilized by radiation. Immediately after being washed, the cartilage is transferred to the laboratory where the best parts for the constitution of the biomembrane are selected.
The selected portions of cartilage are then chemically treated and examined under a microscope in order to select the areas most suited to use by consistency and elasticity; Then they are carved and cut with the preformed measurements.
The surface of New Bone is modeled with microranuras with the aim of increasing the surface-volume ratio. All the aforementioned methods are in accordance with the regulations of the sector, guaranteeing the monitoring, the control of the aparatology, all the registrations and quality controls on the intermediate and final product.
New Bone at the end of the processing cycle is tested for elasticity and strength.
The processing and preparation cycles are carried out in a controlled atmosphere (ISO 7 class) under laminar flow in order to eliminate any air pollution.
For each lot of equine pericardium, the microbiological count is analyzed at the end of the cycle in order to establish if it is suitable for sterilization.
If any batch in this stage exceeds a certain level of microorganisms, it is not admitted in successive stages of sterilization and preparation.
Cytotoxicity and pyrogenicity tests carried out on the ready-to-distribute final product show that New Bone does not cause tissue inflammation.
New Bone is presented in double preparation which contains suitable preservation liquid for the maintenance of the product.
Each garment informs the data concerning the method of sterilization, expiration date, batch number and product reference.
GUIDED TISSUE REGENERATION WITH NEW BONE COLLAGEN MEMBRANE
Guided tissue regeneration is obtained by isolating a space in the bone structure of the surrounding soft tissue. The connective tissue grows very rapidly with respect to the bone tissue invading the empty space hindering the regeneration of the bone. An essential condition for bone growth is the construction of a layer below which the connective tissue is maintained for a period that allows regeneration. New Bone creates such conditions, and is thick enough to create a "carp effect" and can even be used without biomaterial filler.
The New Bone thickness of 500 μm is high enough to create a "tent effect".
