There are two types of whitening components, hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide. The main difference is that hydrogen peroxide is much more concentrated so it can only be left in the patients mouth for a short space of time, where as carbamide peroxide contains moisturizing and remineralizing substances that allow it to stay in the patient’s mouth much longer without causing tooth sensitivity.
