For this purpose, VIDU has started to collaborate with The Gravity Wave, specialists in charge of collecting from the Mediterranean Sea, coasts and ports the same amount of plastic that VIDU generates in 1 year: 2,100 kilos of plastic waste.
Tons of plastic are consumed every year in dental clinics and unfortunately, this material is a serious problem for our ecosystem, so the dentistry sector must raise awareness and join the change as far as possible and stop the waste of this material. From now on, all VIDU brand products will have zero plastic footprint = zero waste. The collaboration with Gravity Wave is a new beginning for the dentistry sector with the aim of offering solutions that are friendlier and more respectful of the environment.

Today plastic accounts for 95% of the waste found both on the seabed and on the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea, where more than 200,000 tonnes of plastic are introduced every year. This fact alerts us to how important it is to start taking measures and supporting initiatives to reduce our plastic footprint. With this collaboration, VIDU starts the sustainable transformation stronger than ever and with a lot of enthusiasm to innovate and reduce the plastic footprint of dental clinics.
What is the plastic footprint of VIDU products?
Below we are going to show you the plastic footprint of the products contained in the prize draw packs (amount of grams per unit):
- Saliva ejectors: Weight of plastic used = 400g/unit. Weight of plastic collected = 400g/unit.
- Chromatic alginate: Weight of plastic used = 10g/unit. Weight of plastic collected = 10g/unit.
- Sterilisation bags: Weight of plastic used = 100g/unit. Weight of plastic collected = 100g/unit.
- Protection napkins: Weight of plastic used = 45g/unit. Weight of plastic collected = 45g/unit.
A total of 1600 grams of plastic per pack will be collected from the coasts, ports and the Mediterranean Sea.
