The most recent Expodental event took place on the 26th, 27th and 28th March at IFEMA Madrid, a space where exhibitors were able to showcase their latest products and most up-to-date new releases. Overall, the event brought together 327 companies from 15 different countries and almost 1700 brands that were represented at the dental sector trade fair. "Technology at the hands of professionals", this was the motto of the latest Expodental event held at IFEMA Madrid. A fair that has revolved around the transformation of the dental sector thanks to the help of digital tools that improve the work of professionals and patient outcomes, the development of CAD-CAM, digital flow technologies and diagnostic imaging equipment. We also heard about sustainability, an issue that is increasingly present in dentistry and that some brands have started to innovate with.
How did the conference go?
Exhibitors and visitors were able to see each other again after the previous event had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions. During these three days, we had discussions with exhibitors who were so happy to be able to return to Expodental or to attend for the first time with their own stand.
The youngest were the visitors on Thursday 24th, the first day of the fair, coinciding as usual with Student's Day. For many of them, it was their first time attending the Expodental. We spoke to them and they seemed to be really enjoying the experience, saying they felt part of the event since there was also spaces dedicated to them at the various stands.
The 4th and 5th year dental students, as well as the future dental hygienists and dental technicians, experienced their first dental sector fair and it was really useful for them to get to know more about the brands and suppliers that they'll use and also meeting their potential future colleagues.

What's more, the internationalisation of the event was clear, with languages from different parts of the world such as Portugal, France, Italy and the United Kingdom being heard around the event. Speaking to the event organisers, the international presence has grown by 23% this year, with the participation of 91 companies from 15 different countries.
What's new at Expodental this year?
Among the new releases of this year's event were innovative 3D printers, more compact and at a more accessible price; less invasive solutions for whitening; laser technology, solutions for sleep apnoea, transparent, almost invisible aligners, which solve aesthetic and functional challenges, or technological solutions to avoid visits to the clinic and improve patient results.
Bondent and its digital devices
Throughout the fair, hundreds of people passed by the Dentaltix stand, intrigued by our game that meant that the stand was always full of visitors. But the CBCT that our colleagues from Bondent had on display in our space also caught the attention of the passers-by. An intelligent scanner that fulfils three functions at the same time: it is panoramic, CT and cephalometric. It also has a field of view of 18 x 8 cm and subscription-free software.
Another major development from Bondent, the group of brands offering integrated services and digital solutions, was its Semorr microscope, with LED camera and lighting, Ultra HD imaging and integrated wifi for linking to mobile devices and tablets, it's certainly a gadget that many visitors couldn't go home without.

Medicaline and its futuristic approach
The Medicaline stand was undoubtedly the centre of attention for many of the attendees passing by. Its tour began with an entertaining game and continued through the different key moments in the history of civilisation, which were related to dentistry and its star products.
Medicaline, a Spanish brand specialising in dental protection and treatments, took the opportunity to showcase its pliers for invisible aligners, its new tungsten carbide burs and its two new mZem Tempo and mZem Plus cements.

Vidu, the revolution of the dental sector
Sustainability has also been emphasised in this year's event. A very current issue for many companies in the dentistry sector. VIDU is the first plastic neutral brand in the dental sector. This means that it offsets its environmental impact by collecting the same amount of plastic it generates from the coasts and waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
This is a commitment that certainly grabbed the attention of attendees who were curious to see the range of products; which includes disposables, restorative, endodontic, orthodontic and impression products.

Live Lectures for our guests
And of course there was a space for sharing knowledge. Throughout the three days we saw first-hand how industry professionals from different brands gathered people together with their presentations at the different stands in the halls. Whitening, waste management in clinics or instrumentation in pulpectomies were some of the topics that caught the attention of both attendees and users on social networks.
All in all, it was an event that exhibitors and visitors alike were all looking forward to. The positive atmosphere could be felt during the three day event that Expodental opened its doors. The transformation of the dental sector is evident and, like other sectors, it is increasingly tending towards the digitalisation of its processes. We also witnessed how sustainability is gaining more and more momentum and despite the limitations, we will certainly witness greener dentistry in the coming years.
We hope this summary has been useful and don't forget to stop by our stand at the next Expodental event, we're already getting ready for the next one!
