Non-Absorbable Silk Sutures
Silk Sutures are the most commonly used dental sutures because of their high strength, flexibility, ease of use, and low cost.
Silk sutures are used for a multitude of oral surgery treatments in dentistry, such as tooth extraction or implant placement.
The silk sutures are made from the braiding of multiple natural silk filaments, previously treated to purify them and desengomarlos.
Silk suture is considered a non-absorbable material, however, because it is a protein material, it behaves as a long-term resorbable material, reabsorbing itself in the body after about two years.
