Calcium Hydroxide Paste Calxyl Blue (3g)

Characteristics of Calxyl filler:

  • Visible with X-ray.
  • Ready-to-usepaste.
  • High pH>12.6 has a bacteriostatic effect, protecting against reinfection.
  • Promotes the formation of tertiary (bridging) dentine.
  • It has a desensitising effect by sealing the dentinal tubules.
  • Used for:
    • Care of caries-free dentine near the pulp
    • Treatment of deep caries or indirect capping
    • Direct pulp capping
    • Vital amputation
    • For temporary insertion of root canals
  • Forms a barrier to cement to prevent exposure to acidic media.
