Description

CleaniCal Calcium Hydroxide Paste

CleaniCal is a temporary intracanal medication material formulated with calcium hydroxide. It is designed to be placed inside the root canal between clinical sessions, helping to disinfect and prepare the tooth prior to definitive obturation.

Its pre-mixed, injectable presentation allows the paste to be applied directly from the syringe using needles or ultrafine tips. This avoids manual mixing of calcium hydroxide with distilled water or anaesthetic and enables hygienic, precise and deep placement.

Features of CleaniCal

  • Supplied pre-mixed and ready to use, reducing clinical preparation time.
  • Its syringe application allows direct, controlled placement within the root canal.
  • Can be dispensed using needles or ultrafine tips to reach deep, hard-to-access areas.
  • Its calcium hydroxide-based composition generates a highly alkaline pH that remains stable within the canal.
  • The alkaline environment provides a prolonged antibacterial effect, acting on resistant micro-organisms.
  • Helps destroy the cell membrane of micro-organisms and denature their proteins.
  • Its viscosity is optimised to provide homogeneous distribution along the main canal.
  • Adapts to the dentinal walls without hardening like a permanent cement, making it easier to remove afterwards.
  • Has high solubility in water, allowing the paste to be removed quickly and completely.
  • Can be removed by irrigation with sodium hypochlorite or EDTA prior to definitive obturation.
  • Its ease of cleaning helps prevent residues that could interfere with sealer cement adhesion from remaining.
  • Offers high radiopacity to help monitor the extent and homogeneity of the medication.
  • Allows radiographic confirmation that the paste has reached the working length and that the canal has been filled without air bubbles.
  • Shows good biocompatibility with the periapical tissues.
  • Contents: 1 x 2 gram syringe + 20 tips + 5 caps.

Indications for CleaniCal

  • Temporary intracanal medication in endodontic treatments carried out over several sessions.
  • Deep disinfection of the root canal in teeth with pulpal necrosis.
  • Treatment of cases of chronic apical periodontitis or persistent infections.
  • Control of exudate, moisture and bleeding in canals with periapical suppuration.
  • Reduction of pain and inflammation of the periapical tissues between clinical sessions.
  • Temporary apexification in young teeth with an open apex, to encourage the formation of a mineralised barrier.
  • Preparation and conditioning of the canal prior to definitive endodontic obturation.
