Dental Articulators

Dental Articulators are devices intended to artificially reproduce the motions and relationships that occur between the upper jaw and the lower jaw of a patient.

Dental articulators have evolved in a very remarkable way, from the old ones that were only a hinge, until the most modern, are classified in the following types:

• Class 1 Dental Articulators reproduce the closure only.
• Class 2 Dental Articulators reproduce closure, opening and protrusive movements and
  With a fixed angulation of the articulator
• Class 3 Dental Articulators , also called semi- adjustable articulators or semi- adjustable articulators , reproduce the positions accurately and the rectilinear movements. They are the so-called Bunker type (Ar: articulation, Con: condylar)
• Class 4 Dental Articulators are so-called fully adaptable, they can accurately reproduce mandibular positions and movements with the same angulations as the patient's curvy shape.
